PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This Diploma will enable participants to gain an in-depth knowledge of how the Healthcare System is organized in Pakistan along with a more detailed understanding of Hospitals. Personnel already working in Hospitals will develop better understanding of other departments. This Diploma will also improve their career prospects for promotions, etc. Participants exposed for the first time to the subject will acquire a sound basic knowledge of how Hospital works. The Diploma will also serve as a base for acquiring higher qualifications in Health & Hospital Management.

2. Hospitals: historical background, types & categories and modern hospitals in future.
3. Hospital Plan & Design: A Project Action Plan, Models & functional adjacencies in Hospital buildings.
4. Patient Management: Patient Experience, Relations and Satisfaction
5. Managing Patient Care Areas: Clinics, Wards, ORs, CSSD, Laboratory, Imaging Services, Delivery suites, NICU, ICUs, & Recovery Room etc.
6. Managing Allied Support Department: Security, Dietary, Housekeeping & Laundry, Transport, Maintenance Plan etc.
7. General Administration: Budgeting the Hospital, Panel Billing Process in the Healthcare, Theftness of material and equipment, abduction of New-born baby.
8. Quality Assurance in Hospitals: Evaluation of Services, Acquisition of ISO 9001:2015, JCI & PHC Standards, SOPs. healthcare quality, patient safety and prevention of medical errors.
9. Hospital Automation System: “ERP” Modules – Selection & Implementation of HIMS Action Plan.
10. Material Management: Forecasting Supplies & Inventory in Hospitals.
11. Managing Human Resources: Staff Hierarchy levels, Training Matrix, Interview Assessments, Appraisal Criteria, etc.
12. Introducing Lean in Hospital
13. Healthcare management and leadership issues
14. Medical Records Review: Medical Audit, Treatment gaps and compliance of SOPs
15. Hospital Infection Control & Biomedical Waste Management
16. Disaster Management: Hospital Administration during disaster, Plan and execution.
