Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – PIM, Karachi

INTRODUCTION

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

The 17 SDGs are integrated — that is, they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.

The training session will provide the participants with the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge about a series of implementation strategies and approaches but also get acquainted with the practical tools, methods, and indicators to monitor and localize the SDGs and report on their progress and achievements.

• Concepts of SDGs
• Understanding targets and indicators
• Impact of technology in our society using SDGs
• Reflection of team efforts
• Localizing the solutions
• Social Action Plans – SAPs for better understanding above content
• Case studies for proper research on each goal

 METHODOLOGY

The course is a blend of theory (30%) and practical (70%) which can be helpful to achieve above skills as well as share the knowledge and experience by teamwork. Practical includes presentations, research work, paper work, graphs, and charts making and much more.

 PARTICIPANT PROFILE

This course is not for a specific industry or an age group. SDGs are equally important for every citizen to understand.

PROGRAM DURATION/DAYS

The program is of two-month duration. Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays (4:00 am to 5:30 pm).

TRAINING INVESTMENT

Rs. 16,000/- learning investment includes certificate, hands-on training, participant training kit (handouts), refreshment, and business networking.
