INTRODUCTION
This course is designed to equip junior to mid-level officials in the energy sector in Pakistan with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage energy resources leading towards cleaner energy resources and just transition. This course will cover essential principles, strategies, and tools for efficient energy management and just energy transition in the context of Pakistan’s energy landscape.
COURSE CONTENTS
Module 1(A):
Ice breaking session: a facilitation session intended to help members of the group begin the process of learning together. This session will begin with an introduction of the instructor and participants. The instructor will also learn more about the desired learning outcomes of the group/individuals.
Module 1(B):
Basic information on Pakistan’s Energy Sector: This module will provide the trainees with introduction and basic information on the organization of the energy sector in Pakistan, the policy making/regulatory framework in the country, energy sector operators, energy mix and other relevant topics.
Module 2:
Introduction to Energy Management: This module will focus on the (i) Overview of energy management principles, (ii) Importance of energy management in Pakistan, (iii) Trends and challenges in the Pakistani energy sector.
Module 3:
Energy Conservation and Efficiency: This module will focus on the (i) Strategies for energy conservation, (ii) Energy-efficient technologies and practices, and (iii) Case studies of successful energy conservation initiatives.
Module 4:
Energy Auditing and Monitoring: This module will focus on (i) Basics of energy auditing, (ii) Conducting energy audits in different sectors (e.g., industrial, commercial, residential), and (iii) Tools and techniques for energy monitoring and performance evaluation.
Module 5:
Renewable Energy Integration: This module will focus on the (i) Overview of renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydro, etc.) in Pakistan, (ii) Integration of and issues/solutions for renewables integration into the energy mix, and (iii) Policy incentives and regulatory frameworks for renewable energy in Pakistan.
Module 6:
Policy and Regulatory Frameworks: This part of training will focus on (i) Overview of energy policies and regulations in Pakistan, (ii) Impact of government policies on energy management practices, and (iii) various energy sector management/operations compliance requirements and standards.
Module 7:
Introduction to Just Energy Transition and Linkage with International Climate Change Obligations: This module will focus on introducing the concepts of Just Energy Transition and what does it mean for a developing economy such as Pakistan, what are the obligations of the Government of Pakistan under the various international climate change treaties, and what are the possible long-term energy planning and just energy transition strategies for Pakistan.

- Learn best practices for energy conservation, efficiency, and optimization (iv) Develop skills in energy auditing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Explore strategies for integrating renewable energy sources into the existing energy infrastructure.
- Understand policy and regulatory frameworks related to energy management in Pakistan.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE
The workshop is two-day program (9:00 pm to 4:00 pm).

TRAINER
The course will be facilitated by an experienced trainer with more than 31 years of project management
experience in government and international development sector, with nearly 20 years’ experience in
