PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The threats emanating from Fraud or other unethical activities have attracted and continue to demand increased attention from the leaders of organizations, investors, regulators and host of other stakeholders. Hence there is an increased need for professionals well versed in prevention, detection and investigation of those threats.
Possessing the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential provides a competitive advantage compared to non-certified individuals. CFE’s perform a variety of activities including forensic accounting, audit, consulting and fraud & security investigations. This prestigious, gold standard, US Certification in the area of fraud examines allegations of fraud, recommend anti-fraud controls, assist in resolution of financial disputes or the valuation of assets, and is expert witness in financial investigations.
COURSE OUTLINE
This certification is awarded by the ACFE Board of Regents to professionals who have proved to possess specific knowledge in the following subject areas:
- Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes
- Investigation Techniques
- Legal Elements of Fraud
- Fraud Prevention & Deterrence
EXAM FORMAT & TIMES
The CFE Exam consists of four sections: Fraud Prevention and Deterrence, Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes, Investigation and Law. There are 125 questions per section. Each question has a time limit of 75 seconds, and each section takes approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes to complete. The cost to take the CFE Exam is US $400.
PROGRAM DURATION/DAYS
This Program is of 2-months’ duration . Classes will be held on Sunday only during 10:00 am to 04:00 pm.
CFE RECOGNITION
SEC of Pakistan includes CFE credential qualification in public head of internal audit positions
Clause (xiv) of the Pakistani CCG and rule 22 (2) of Public Sector Companies (Corporate Governance) Regulation reads:
No person shall be appointed as the Head of Internal Audit of a listed company unless he/she has 5 years of relevant audit experience and is:
- a member of a recognized body of professional accountants; or
- a Certified Internal Auditor; or
- a Certified Fraud Examiner; or
- Certified Internal Control Auditor
The CFE credential is also recognized in the hiring and promotion policies of leading organizations, including the FBI, US IRS, the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) etc.,
CFE RECOGNITION
Retaking Sections
If you fail a section of the exam, you may retake it on your own computer. You will only need to retake those sections that you do not pass. In order to pass the exam, you must score at least 75 percent correct on each section of the CFE Exam. CFE Exam scores are only released when you have not achieved the 75 percent pass rate.
