COURSE DESCRIPTION

PGM depicts the development of management thinking over the past 120 years, from the three distinct earlier schools to contemporary management. The last includes earlier concepts that have been carried forward and elaborated on in recent times. It also features the most significant pathfinders, thinkers and practitioners whose ideas continue to shape management today.
Models and definitions of management keep evolving. As societal values change, existing viewpoints alter and new models of management emerge. However, the basic principles that underlie these different models do not lose their value. It is to examine and analyze these sound, everlasting principles that this course has been designed.

COURSE CONTENT

Classical theories of management, management models and their evolvement, the manager and his functions, the manager’s different roles, and the development of Good Management Principles.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participant will be able to:

• Learn the pre-requisites for acting as good manager
• Comprehend the art of employee-constereel managerial grid
• Recognize the value of organization culture, environment & polices
